About

Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where a few friends kept recommending games to each other. Eventually we got tired of scrolling through store pages full of copy-paste descriptions and five-star reviews that said nothing, so we decided to write the kind of reviews we wished existed.,Everyone on the team plays games on their daily commute, during lunch breaks, and far too late at night. We're not a studio and nobody pays us to feature their game. If something ends up in our catalog, it's because at least one of us spent real hours with it and had something to say.,We pick games across every genre on purpose. A brilliant puzzle game and a sprawling strategy title ask for completely different things from you, and we try to judge each on its own terms rather than forcing everything onto one scale.,Our ratings are opinions, not science. We tell you what we liked, what annoyed us, and who we think a game is for. Then you decide.

Lukas Hoffmann — Lukas has been writing about games for over a decade and still keeps a battered phone just for testing. He mostly plays strategy and turn-based RPGs when nobody is watching.
